2003: A new grape variety in Marcorino
One of the Castello’s warmest and best-exposed vineyards on the Marcorino hill was grubbed up.
​
During replanting, it was decided to dedicate a part of the vineyard to Barbera d’Alba Superiore and another part to a new variety recommended to Italo by his friend and school companion Roberto Paglietta, who had become the Professor of Tree-based Cultivation at the University of Turin.
